The weather forecast predicts a warm May Sunday. Reason points us to the shade, as thick as possible, and we should also think about the fitness of our four-legged senior.

We choose together Platak which will provide us with the pleasant freshness we need along the walkway.

We start at 8:00 from the Decathlon parking lot in Rijeka, and arrive at Platak in about 30 minutes.

We have not been in these parts for a long time because we are pleasantly surprised by the beautifully restored most of the road from turning left from the main road towards Platak.

In the early morning, there is plenty of space in the spacious parking lot. In the immediate vicinity are sports fields, nice facilities for families with children, and for all nature lovers.

We will follow the paved path towards the big home, and towards the previously prepared circular path of +10 km.

What a difference in temperature. In the car we cooled down, and now we are looking for something to wrap ourselves in because the morning breeze whispers that we are at 1110m above sea level.

A massive fence follows us along the pavement to the entrance to the Great Home. I'm sure the investor knows why that's the way it should be. We didn't figure it out. And we haven't figured out why it's still energy-inefficient, old public outdoor lighting in front of the home.

The trail is refreshing in every way. After several asphalt kilometers, gravel road. The felled and marked logs indicate that someone is in control of the forest treasure.

Here and there are only a few cyclists, but also a car, an SUV.

After a pleasant forest shade, we step onto the meadows, Veliki and Mali Pribeniš, a few kilometers of sun-drenched trail.

Greenery is a holiday for the eyes and the soul, so we do not feel the heat to such an extent.

The Great House of Platak

We will feed our starving bodies in natural shade the Great House.

The female part will be gnocchi with bear onions, and nettle fritter with baked potatoes. They're gonna have a men's burger with kajmak and fries. For dessert strudels and pancakes!

We are served by a young team, every so often they check if everything is okay.

Everything is good today!

So simple, so fine! And the price, judge for yourself. ⁇

P.S. And when you drink a little, you find out a lot.

That's my husband's second marriage, our second marriage!

The first one was assembled right here, more than 35 years ago, on the (local) Youth Work Action on which “young people” built the Radeševo ski trail. The newlyweds, by solemnly skipping to the ground of the laid krampa, holding hands by the camp fire, said YES and vowed eternal love.
