Grožnjan is located on a hill, so as soon as we get out of the car we enjoy endless olive groves and vineyards.
The walking plan has already been recorded in electronic aids, so we start with the intention to explore the surrounding area and walk at least a fraction of Parenzane.
At the first kilometer, he tries to stop us with wire and thorns, but we force crossing and/or bypassing. We enjoy the continuation of the route, which is very pleasant for a light walk. The road is macadam, suitable for walkers, runners and cyclists.
On the way we meet asparagus pickers. In their hands beautiful experts of wild treasure. "There are," they say. Of course there are, but in their hands.
We stop, we look, we search and we don't find. Asparagus is a handful, but asparagus is not a cure. Although slightly disappointed, we don't give up. Happiness accompanies courageous, but also persistent. We are modest, 6-7 asparagus will satisfy our palate.
In the lowland part of the route, there is occasional risk of stepping into the mud, but experienced walkers can easily cope.
Enjoying a walk suddenly spoils the heavy stench. At first glance, you'd say it's manure, but it's not. A stream of oily black liquid flows.
Oil isn't, what could it be?
It's nearby oil mill. Is it possible that the “disposal” of the residues of olive oil production is carried out in this way?
Shocked by what we've seen, we'll report the incident to the authorities. Let the institutions do their job!
A slight climb brings us closer to Grožnjan.

Grožnjan It has only 164 inhabitants. I'm already entering hints that this is a city of art and artists. It amazes the number of galleries in such a small space. Yards, facade installations, colorful windows, every house as if living art.

The waitress barely knows Croatian, but enough to take the order and bring exactly what we ordered – 3 pizzas and 1 frittata with asparagus.
