Kastelir (40)

Today we are going to search for the treasures of Nigrinja. That's what it's called. circular track which starts in Kaštelir, about 12 km long.

The trail was “chosen” by Unno, our occasional four-legged member. He looks forward to wherever he is being led, but his feet can cancel obedience. ⁇ ⁇

And we also look forward to him being with us because he “chooses” less demanding and not too long paths. ⁇

Kaštelir

He drove us to the center of Kastelir. Parking place is waiting.

We look around, it's neat. A wonderful combination of modern and old indigenous houses. It dominates the church.

It's almost 9:30, but only once in a while does a car ruin the tranquility of this place.

We meet “Breka”

We pass through Babići, near the villages of Tadini and Mekiši.

Brek joined us along the way. Whether that's his real name we don't know, but it seems appropriate to us. There's a necklace, you can see the terrain.

He's wanted by society, he's not separated from us. It was offered to him, but he refused to eat, and he refused to drink.

The trail is almost all the way macadam, wide and spacious. A good part of us follows the shade of a not so dense forest. The view of the vineyards and olive groves whose fruits are ready for harvest right now rests. Blessings help. ⁇

Cerjani

And in Cerjani huge greenhouses. Pomidora and peppers handful.

We arrive at a stone monument and a large grassy area. We're hoping that maybe this is where the remains of the ancient Nigrinja fortress are. But it's not. ⁇

No sign, no sign. So where's he hiding? ⁇

This beautiful place for excursions is Vrbanovica.

We didn't see the paragliders or the ones that would have been fired from the precincts at the shooting range. We can only guess how alive it is at the time of local festivities, especially at the time of the Gramperiada, the celebration of Labor Day and the anniversaries of the fight against fascism that are traditionally celebrated here.

And we took a break with Teranino from the flask, and continued with a smile.  ⁇ ⁇

Look what our eyes see?

Solar power plant, merges with the winding terrain configuration.

Ćakula na ćakulu, beseda na beseda and here we are again in Kaštelir.

And who knows better where the treasure of Nigranja is than the locals themselves. We've asked. There it is around the corner they say. True, it's there, but we didn't mean the restaurant. ⁇

We passed the trail, but we did not discover where “Nigrinjansko treasure” was. It's a pity. ⁇

We admit, at one point we lost our compass and shortened the gpx trail that led us. There is also a logical explanation for the failure.

P.S. We read that once upon a time (according to a document from 983) existed on the slopes along the Mirna river rocky, fortified Nigrignanum, and under it the eponymous onion. All that remains is a pile of stones already covered in oblivion.

The Gastronomic Pleasures…

We have a few options, and we'll get to them by car. Before that, we should say goodbye to Brek. He's happily waving his tail and waiting for us to call him. Run after a car as long as your feet wear it...

We have already devised a plan in advance where to go, but we are surprised that some objects do not work. The season was clearly above expectations, so it is worth resting on the weekends.

Tavern Jadruhi in the village of Jadruhi near Vižinada it was shipped off.

We haven't booked the table, but luck accompanies us.

Gnocchi with boškarin cheeks soft as a soul. The complaint can be made only on account of the amount of meat in 3 servings served at the oval.

Tortelini with cheese in pumpkin sauce are ok, but they should be warmer, just cooked, no doubt that they may have just been reheated.

Vanilla and fried almond crostata and apple strudel are dark!

Something had to be drunk, but the red wine of the house and beer are not worth highlighting. A travel supplement in the form of a good biska at the expense of the host is a nice ending for those who were allowed to consume it.

Teranino, which female part of the team prefers, is not offered. ⁇
