The call of Rab's bell towers
The competent Ministry of the Government of the Republic of Croatia published yesterday models and recommendations for working in conditions related to COVID-19 in the pedagogical/school year 2020/2021. The Corona virus has been hiding to mutate peacefully, and we are heading to Rab.
We are actively working on the sustainability of the Croatian tourism product towards the end of the season that will be remembered. ⁇
We hurried, so we have a little more time before the ferry leaves.
Day 1
We're pausing in Senj. With a view from the main road, it is hard to imagine the charm of this city. The facades are crying out for renewal.
This time we don't have time for a detailed tour.
Tesla Supercharger E-charging points to a brighter future for this city.
Senj should be given a full day for detailed sightseeing, and be sure to go to the fortress Nehaj.
We've got time for coffee at Stinica.
We are on Rab after a 30-minute pleasant ride. Even a short trip like this looks like an antidepressant.
We're already euphoric on disembarkation. Traveling to the island, even near the place of permanent residence on the mainland, has a healing effect on the soul and body.
Rab
We chose accommodation apartment Dragica in Kampor. Sources say it is the best-preserved fishing village on the island.
GPS takes us up the hill. It is narrow, without sidewalks, and many walls of houses are also neighborly boundaries.
Famous Croatian story of the expansion of squares for tourist dormitories at the expense of functional mobility within the place. The accommodation is excellent. Pleasant hosts are engaged in renting tourist accommodation for many years.
A sandy beach is in front of us. We can't resist without freshening up in the sea first.
After swimming, we go for a tour. From the cobbled streets of the city emerges the spirit of a long gone time.
The viewpoint offers a beautiful panoramic view of the city and its famous 4 bell towers.
Nearby is beautiful Komrčar Park with numerous trails that wind around the wooded hills and descend all the way to the beaches.
A big thank you to the gentleman Justice of Beli who, at the end of the 19th century, was the municipal superforester of Rab and led a reforestation project.
And thank you to Mrs. Wilma who managed to save the Rab cake from oblivion. More than 300 years ago, she served only in the rich houses of Rab patricians, and now we too can enjoy this privilege.
It's the best in the Rab Cake House. A kilo of mendula, a kilo of cuckoo, Maraschino.
It would be a sin not to try such a delicacy whose recipe has not changed since the 12th century!
Mmmmm, real pleasure! ⁇
Day 2
We're investigating Kamporska Draga.
We went down to Miral Beach. Early in the morning, the sun shows its strength.
Until it's burned, we'll take a walk around the area. We take the coastal promenade towards Gonar beach. A determined individual will swim to the islet of Boljkovac.
“Acts close, but the current carries” tells us on the way back. The rest of the team this time will not prove their swimming abilities ⁇
We were exhausted by the heat, we were overwhelmed by the fatigue. We need a little lentils’, but also something to eat beforehand.
The Dupin Inn is close to the apartment. It's solidly packed. The talkative waiter says that only now, in this pandemic, do they have the most work and the best earnings.
Tuna and beefsteak are served raw with hot stone. We get to work because we're expected to bake them ourselves. We also got aprons so we don't get dirty.
Too bad we didn't document this with a videotape. This is an experience that has been remembered for a long time!
Day 3
Our time is passing fast, and we haven't been able to see much....Supetar Draga, Kampor Concentration Camp, Goli otok, Kalifront Forest Park, Premužić Trail (this one on Rab of course)...
The ferry departs from Lopara, And sooner we'll go to Paradise Beach.
We take off our sandals and pat on the shallows. If we were much younger, we'd be perfect here. It offers a lot of content. Now we prefer firmer substrates, without traces of sand. The summer bustle and noise are less and less ours.
We are not hungry, but the road is ahead of us. We'll just have 1/2 pizza. ⁇ ⁇
We will return on the ferry line Lopar – Valbiska.
It's early afternoon, and this trip is still worth sweetening. We'll be home by midnight. Proven good offers Tavern Zora in a good place. Lopar pizza hasn't settled yet, but since we're here, it would be a shame not to taste homemade fuži.
We moved the seat belts for another hole. ⁇
Maybe we lose a few calories if we take a walk? We'll try it.
It's charming Dobrinj. It is adorned with Placa Square, Jardin Park, lookout.
There's a cultural center on the square. Infeld. It was founded by Peter Infeld, one of the world's largest art collectors. Unfortunately, it's closed.
We leave the place thinking about the words read by the entrance to the gallery.
‘He who has attained immortality in his lifetime through his works shall not die.’
We want to believe that we are on the right track. ⁇
